Becoming part of a team

Updated: Jan 6, 2021

“T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More”.

Over the last 13 years I have worked mostly independently. However, I often long, I even attempt, to become part of a team of like-minded health and wellness professionals. So far, I've yet to find the right fit.

My vision is to help create a health care system that addresses underlying cause of disease and prioritizes prevention. We can be victims when ill-informed. A more sustainable health care system empowers the patient with the tools and resources that facilitate self care. It recognizes that we are all biochemically unique and that there is no one-size-fits-all best practice.

Occasionally I consider, going back to university full time; to pursue a designation that conventional health care recognizes. I think about getting into the box to facilitate change from within. In a sense I am admitting defeat, even though my mantra has been, ‘I never fail. I succeed or I learn.’

But in mid life, having overcome so many challenges to get to where I am, I already have so much to share and just need to find a forum to reach a wider audience. While I am a lifelong learner, it no longer makes sense to hide behind my books.

Sometimes I consider resorting to using “resume virtues” when the “eulogy virtues” resonate so much more at this stage in my life. After all, at times you just have to play the game; step outside of your comfort zone right? Hmmm...

'Circumstance does not make the person. It reveals them.'

~James Allen

Working with like-minded professionals, who treat the whole person, not the diagnosis, resonates with my core values. I'll create a team because together everyone achieves more.
