Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.
~ Larry Lorenzoni
March is a busy month for us. We have a lot of family birthdays to celebrate, including my own.
Although I prefer to keep it low-key, I sincerely appreciate all the thoughtful birthday wishes. Thank you!
As I reflect on the completion of yet another year, I can't help but count my blessings.
In my 60s now, I have no physical ailments impairing my ability to function.
This week, having our whole family here with us, including two grandchildren under two, just as I would do with our daughter and son at that age, I have been able to do challenging forest hikes with our twenty-eight-pound granddaughter on my shoulders or arms.
Nothing hurts. I have an abundance of energy to run around and play catch. While I do take natural supplements, I need no prescribed medication.
Although I don't really "workout" (or perhaps, for me, because of it) I can sit on the floor and, with stability, stand up without use of any limbs - as demonstrated here.
I attribute my health and vitality to active daily living, home-cooked meals using nature-made ingredients, no alcohol, a can-do attitude, and honouring light-dark cycles with respect to how I eat and sleep.
For those of you who may be suffering joint pain there is hope. I had a painful hip for many years, but after reading Dr. John E. Sarno's book, The Mindbody Prescription, by simply becoming aware that we can embody emotions, that too, resolved itself.
I may come back and add to this but, today, family is my priority.
