The most blatant and deadly example of the intervention-based incentives of our medical system is that medical leaders are absolutely silent on the things that are actually making us sick: food and lifestyle.

The tides are turning. Conscientious influencers are waking up to the fact that health starts in the kitchen.
Our genes haven’t changed. Yet, because our food quality has been deteriorating for decades, we have experienced a very costly obesity epidemic.
Ultra-processed foods are scientifically designed to be highly addictive and impair our ability to feel full.
When we eat whole, clean, naturally produced, nutrient-dense food, satiety hormones like glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) diminish our hunger. Wild animals eating their natural diets do not overeat.
I am often asked to share my thoughts on the new, injectable, very costly GLP-1 agonist blockbuster drugs.
My thoughts on weight loss drugs
Eighty percent of American Farm Bill subsidies go to corn, grains, and soy oil. Amazingly, tobacco receives four times more government subsidies (2 percent) than all fruits and vegetables combined (0.45 percent).

I have compassion for people who have tried everything and cannot sustainably release weight, but there is no magic pill.
Having a very costly drug injected weekly over a lifetime does not address the underlying cause of excessive weight gain - our toxic food supply.
Although I have heard reports of side benefits, like all synthetic drugs, these novel-weight loss GLP-1 shots have countless adverse side effects.
Until we can clean up our food supply, we must prioritize time to procure and prepare clean food at home.
Taxpayer dollars that would subsidize the cost of the drug could better be used to improve the quality of food for all.
Even the country that manufactures and has profited most from the widely used GLP-1 drug, Denmark, has taken steps to restrict its promotion and use among its citizens.
